Reading and Math Sites:

  10. KidsPsych Games designed to develop thinking skills are grouped by age.
  11. Learning Planet This site has games grouped by grade level. It includes alphabet and math games, memory (concentration) games, online word searches, and games that require quick reflexes and hand-eye coordination.

Reading Only Sites:

  1. Between the Lions Based on the PBS show. Click on the picture of the lion for this week's games. One game, "Gawain's Word" features two knights jousting. One knight carries a flag with a consonant such as "h", the other with a blend such as "ug." When they meet there is a lovely crashing sound and then you hear the word they form, "hug"! This can then be repeated with other consonants.
  2. Brain teasers This site has games that review lower case letter and pattern recognition, letter sounds, and object identification.
  3. Connect the Dots Click on letters in alphabetic order to see Winnie the Pooh characters
  4. Game Goo Games provide practice in language arts skills, including recognizing upper and lower case letters, alphabetical order, spelling three letter words, distinguishing fiction from nonfiction, and identifying opposites.
  5. Mighty Book Hear stories, songs and jokes. Play games and puzzles.
  6. Put it on the shelf Match pictures to three or four letter words.
  7. Starfall Reading activities

  9. Word Games and Puzzles Includes concentration, hangman, and scrambled word games.

Math Only Sites:

  1. More, Less, or the Same Compare colored blocks to determine which is less or more. (Must recognize the words more, less, and same to play.)

Book and Author Sites:

  1. Book Adventure Read a book, take a quiz, earn points and prizes!
  2. Flat Stanley Project  Students make a paper Flat Stanley and mail it, along with a blank journal, to someone on the "List of Participants." The recipient treats the visiting Stanley as a guest and takes it places. After a few weeks Stanley is mailed back with a completed journal and perhaps some photographs, post cards, and souvenirs. Having your class on the list means others might send a Stanley to you, too!

  1. Fire Safety Fire Administration Kids Page. Can you find all the fire hazards in Hydro's house? Also, take the fire safety quizzes.
  2. OUPD Kid Safety This animated slide show teaches fire safety and other safety subjects. For a complete listing of all eighteen safety tutorials, click on "Stop" then "Menu."
  3. Sparky the Fire Dog Sparky the Fire Dog is the official Dalmatian "spokes dog" of the NFPA. Try driving a fire truck!
