Director of Technology -- DATE OF POSTING: December 30, 2008

Applications are now being accepted for a Director of Technology position. This is a full-time administrative position that includes employee benefits.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of all aspect of technology and informational technology and all such planning and decisions needed to maintain a system to meet the districts educational and operational needs. The position will also serve as a member of the Administrative Cabinet.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Related training/certifications and five (5) years of successful experience with Network/Engineering background; technology in public education field experience preferred. BS degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. Strong background and experience in computer hardware/software and WAN. Possess effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interface orally and in writing with administrators, teachers, parents, students, board members, support staff, colleagues, and outside professional contacts. Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts; Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; Proficiency in the use of technology for individual and system management, communication, and research; Proficiency in presentation technology to enhance small and large group information and demonstration sessions; Skills in coordinating and evaluating system use of technology.


Transportation Supervisor -- DATE OF POSTING: December 31, 2008

The successful candidate will be responsible for the centralized operation of our Transportation Department, including, scheduling, routing, and the selection, supervision, evaluation and training of transportation personnel. 


Health/Physical Education -- DATE OF POSTING:  December 22, 2008

This is a part-time position at $29.00 per hour, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on weeknights, and includes no benefits.

NON-INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT -- DATE OF POSTING: December 18, 2008

Applications are now being accepted for a part-time NON-INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT position. The starting rate is $9.42 per hour, up to 3 hours per day.  Employee benefits are not included with this position. 

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To perform non-instructional duties to assist the administrative and professional staff with the supervision of students and delivery of the instructional program and support services to students.        

LOCATION:  Loomis Elementary, or others schools if available.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  High school diploma or GED with experience working with school aged children preferred. Must possess the temperament to work with students and adults exhibiting a wide range of emotions and have the physical ability to perform the essential duties.


SPECIAL EDUCATION ASSISTANT -- Date of Posting - December 15, 2008

Applications are now being accepted for a full-time SPECIAL EDUCATION ASSISTANT position.  This position will include one-on one student assistance. The starting salary is $12,422.  Employee benefits are included with this position.

REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or GED and experience working with school aged children preferred. Specialized training in child development, personal care, and other related areas a plus. Must provide evidence of annually completing a minimum of twenty (20) hours of staff development activities related to assignment. Good oral and written communication skills, visual acuity, and the ability to hear and read are required. Must possess the temperament to work with students and adults exhibiting a wide range of emotions and have the physical ability to perform the essential duties including attending to the personal care of students and, by July 1, 2010 must have completed at least two (2) years of postsecondary education, or possess an associate degree or higher, or meet a state or district rigorous standard of quality assessment.

Full- and Part-Time School Safety Officers -- DATE OF POSTING: November 13, 2008

Applications are now being accepted for Full- and Part-Time School Safety Officers.  The minimum rate for this position is $13.75 per hour.   

Primary Function:  

  • To perform duties to assist the administrative staff with maintaining the safety and security of students, staff, visitors, grounds and property of the district.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED;
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License;
  • Experience working in security or law enforcement preferred;
  • Must complete Basic School Resource Officer Course within six (6) months of employment;
  • Experience working with school age children preferred;
  • Must possess temperament to work with children and adults exhibiting a wide range of emotions;
  • Must possess physical ability to perform the essential duties of the job

Mathematics Teacher -- DATE OF POSTING:  October 28, 2008

FULL- AND PART-TIME CUSTODIAL -- DATE OF POSTING: OPEN

Applications are now being accepted for SUBSTITUTE FULL- AND PART-TIME CUSTODIAL positions.    These positions have a rate of $13.72 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience performing commercial cleaning and janitorial duties
  • Requires ability to properly use all types of commercial vacuum cleaners, stripping and buffing machines and any special tool or piece of equipment assigned for the performance of duties.
  • Must be knowledgeable about safety regulations, proper methods for using and storing cleaning chemicals and floor finishes.
  • Applicants must be in good physical and mental condition and be able to lift, pull, push, and carry items weighing more than fifty pounds.  Also, they must be able to climb and stand on ladders and platforms.
  • Knowledge at present or the ability to be trained for basic electrical repairs, such as ballast replacement, repair of flushing mechanisms, and perform minor repairs with custodial equipment or other repairs throughout the building.
  • Must possess the temperament to work with students and staff exhibiting a wide range of emotions, and the physical ability to perform the essential duties.

Requirements:
Perform custodial duties that relate to the care and cleaning of buildings, grounds and equipment, which include, but are not limited to:

  • Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting and polishing of floors, furniture, doors, windows, and other surfaces.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting lavatories and restrooms
  • Collecting trash and debris from buildings, classrooms, and offices.
  • Safe and proper use of all related equipment, supplies, tools, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Completion of assigned tasks inside and outside, regardless of weather conditions, so that school facilities are maintained in a safe, clean, and attractive manner

PART TIME BUS DRIVER — DATE OF POSTING: 2007-2008

Applications are now being accepted for a PART TIME BUS DRIVER . This position has a minimum starting salary of $16.53 per hour (training rate) or $18.30 per hour (with CDL license). Employee benefits are not included.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s Class B License

Homebound Instructors

Applications are now being accepted for Homebound Instructors. This is a part-time hourly position that works on an as needed basis providing instruction of district curriculum to students in residences and other off-site locations. Work may be performed days, evenings and weekends. The hourly rate is $29.00 per hour.
