Worrall Election! Students received instruction about citizenship in the library, and classroom teachers held discussions & mini-elections in the classrooms.  The library made ballots in red & blue to coordinate with the poster behind each candidate.  The students came down during the day to cast their votes by picking a colored ballot to match their candidate & drop it into the decorated ballot box.  Student council members gave a mid-day count & announced the winner at the end of the day. Worrall students elected Barack Obama President of the United States!

New Principal Announcement from Superintendent -- The Board of School Directors approved the appointment of Worrall's new principal, Mr. John Trezise, at the October 28, 2008 meeting.  e  Mr. Trezise was the unanimous choice of the Worrall building-based committee and the unanimous choice of the District Cabinet-level committee.

Mr. Trezise has been an educator for 18 years, 10 of them as an elementary and middle school teacher and 8 of them as an administrator.  He currently is the 9th grade level principal at Henderson High School, as well as the K-12 Health & Physical Education Coordinator in the West Chester School District.

Mr. Trezise demonstrates strength in the area of student achievement, professional development, technology, special education, safety and security, supervision of staff, as well as communicating with all constituents.  My favorite quote from Mr. Trezise’s interview is “My greatest source of success is through the success of others.”

I look forward to introducing Mr. Trezise to all of you in the very near future, pending School Board approval next Tuesday night.  I feel confident that interim principal, Kay Sweet, will ensure a very smooth transition for Mr. Trezise, as soon as he is able to join us in the next few months.

Sincerely,
Merle Horowitz, Superintendent
