At the regularly scheduled Board Meeting on June 26, 2018, the Marple Newtown Board of School Directors approved the 2018-2019 General Operating Budget.  This budget included funds for enhancing the district safety and security initiatives with the creation of two  positions.  The new Director of School Safety will be a professionally trained individual who will strengthen district security systems and manage the district safety programs, as well as, security personnel.  This individual, along with the newly created police officer position, will provide an increased level of security presence and response to the existing security team.   The addition of these new personnel in the area of security  are the first of several steps being taken by the district to improve the overall safety of the school district...

Additionally, funds were appropriated for debt service to prepare for future borrowing for the anticipated building and renovation projects for Culbertson and Loomis elementary schools.

The Board of School Directors also took action to finalize plans for the athletic fields project on the lower fields at Marple Newtown High School.   The project will proceed with an upgrading of the multipurpose, varsity baseball, and varsity softball fields to artificial turf with an alternate bid to include a grass upgrade on the junior varsity fields.  All related budgets and schematics can be found here. 2018-2019 Budget and Fields Renovation Project
